Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination and execution of electro-mechanical engineering of medium-voltage and high-voltage in both Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation projects in the 34.5kV – 550kV range (future possibility up to 800kV) with an emphasis on project safety, cost, quality and reliability.
Perform technical, cost savings, and constructability reviews of electro-mechanical design packages from internal engineering, outsourced sub-contractor engineering and equipment factories.
Perform studies and analysis, including but not limited to: Rigid bus analysis, grounding analysis,calculations, illumination studies, lightning protection studies and auxiliary power system studies. Generate equipment specifications, monitor vendor technical compliance and witness factory acceptance testing as applicable.
Develop the Design Criteria and the Document Deliverables list for the project, and single line diagrams, layout & section drawings, raceway systems, grounding systems, station service and BOMs for the substation design packages. Provide construction, installation & commissioning support.
